The greenline guide

Describe the work to your coding agent. greenline gives it a practice: engineering methods, three modes that say how sure each change must be, and one record per change that any later session can resume from. The agent proposes a mode and waits for you, so you keep control of scope and consequential choices, and git hooks greenline installs hold the record's promises on whichever harness you use.

greenline works with Codex and Claude Code, on your machine, with no account, no key and no service. Its skills, its managed instructions and your work records are the whole product, and every part of it is free and open source. Your decisions and change records remain in the repository.

garden, a separate product of maintained engineering knowledge, is reached only through an optional connector the repository's owner enables. A fresh install has it off.
